What Is HYROX?
HYROX is a global fitness race — 8km of running split across 8 rounds, each followed by one functional fitness station: sled push, ski erg, rowing, burpee broad jumps, sandbag lunges, wall balls, and more.
Same format, every city, every event — so you know exactly what you’re training for. Indoor venues, standardized stations, and a finish line that rewards engine, strength, and pacing under fatigue.
HYROX Classes at Sand & Steel put that format on the training floor — building your engine, practicing the stations, and training the stamina to keep moving when it gets hard.
What HYROX Classes at Sand & Steel Look Like
Custom-programmed HYROX Classes meet Monday–Thursday at 6:00a and 6:15p. Your coach explains the workout, warms you up for the day’s demands, and scales every station to your level — the same small-class attention you get in Fitness Classes, applied to race-prep conditioning.
Sled Work
Push and pull sessions that build the leg and upper-body strength race day demands. Loaded carries, partner sled drills, and progressive intervals — with coaching on body position and drive so you move efficiently, not just hard.
Ski Erg & Rowing
Machine-based conditioning intervals that build aerobic capacity and teach efficient pacing — two stations where accumulated fatigue separates prepared athletes from everyone else.
Running Intervals
Structured run progressions for the 8km built into every HYROX event — coached pacing strategy so you have gas left for the final station, not just the first lap.
Mixed-Modal Conditioning
Run-to-station combinations that mirror race demands — wall balls, burpee broad jumps, sandbag lunges, and other HYROX stations practiced under fatigue so race day feels familiar.
Yes — we have the full HYROX training floor: Woodway treadmill, Rogue push sled, rope-pull sled, Concept2 rowers, ski erg, wall balls, sandbags, and the stations you’ll see on race day.
Who HYROX Classes Are For
Registered for a HYROX Race
You have an event on the calendar and want structured programming that actually prepares you — specific conditioning, station practice, and pacing strategy so you show up ready.
Race-Curious
You want race-style conditioning without guessing the programming. Many members train HYROX Classes for the sled-and-run format alone — it builds a different kind of fitness than regular Fitness Classes.
DEKA, Spartan & Similar Events
The same engine, sled, and mixed-modal demands show up across fitness racing. HYROX Classes build the work capacity and station skills that transfer to DEKA, Spartan, and other race formats.

HYROX Classes FAQ
Do I need to be entering a HYROX race to join HYROX Classes?
No. Many members train HYROX Classes because they enjoy the race-prep conditioning format — sled, ski, and run-based training that builds a different kind of fitness. An event on the calendar helps focus your training, but it is not required.
Is HYROX Classes included in my Fitness Classes membership?
Yes. Every Fitness Classes membership includes HYROX Classes at no extra charge. Monday–Thursday morning and evening sessions are built into the schedule. See Fitness Classes pricing →
What’s the difference between HYROX Classes and regular Fitness Classes?
Fitness Classes (Performance and Foundations) run Monday–Saturday with strength and conditioning — barbells, kettlebells, conditioning, and calisthenics. HYROX Classes meet Monday–Thursday at 6:00a and 6:15p with programming focused on race-prep — sled, ski erg, running intervals, and HYROX station work under fatigue. Both are included in your membership. See the class schedule for times.
Do you have all the HYROX equipment for race prep?
Yes. Our floor includes a Woodway treadmill, Rogue push sled, rope-pull sled, Concept2 rowers, Concept2 ski erg, wall balls, sandbags, and the other stations from the HYROX event format. All of it is available for coach-led classes, private sessions, and Open Gym.
How many times per week do HYROX Classes meet?
Eight sessions per week — Monday–Thursday at 6:00a and 6:15p. Confirm live openings on the class schedule and in the Member App; the current week’s programming is posted on the Workouts This Week page.
Can I train HYROX outside of Monday–Thursday classes?
Yes. Use private coaching for a custom race build, or Open Gym for independent work on the same sled, ski, rower, and treadmill setup. Many members stack classes with open gym or PT as race day gets closer.
Can I try HYROX Classes before joining?
Yes — your first Fitness Classes session is free, and that includes HYROX Classes when they are on the schedule. Book a free trial class →
I already do Fitness Classes — how do I add HYROX Classes?
HYROX Classes are already included in your membership. Check the weekly schedule to see when sessions run and start showing up — no additional signup needed.
I’m brand new to fitness. Should I start with HYROX Classes?
We recommend building a foundation in Fitness Classes (Performance or Foundations track) first. If you’re brand new and want private coaching before jumping into any group class, Jump Start is four private sessions that teach you class movements before you join the group.
